To begin this project, we had to choose a typeface from a given selection. Each student chose a different typeface, and the aim was to create a consistent layout system based on the number of articles and their length. The content was already provided, so we only had to work on the layout. For my part, I chose Antarctica Beta Expanded. Wide fonts are not the most legible and can be quite challenging to work with in layout design. To establish hierarchy among the elements, I left plenty of white space to make the layout more breathable; text sizes and their orientation complemented and supported the overall composition. First-line indents were also added to improve readability. I had to follow several micro-typography rules to maintain coherence throughout the entire layout.
